Documents in, finished work out

Clients upload without an account

Send a client an upload-only link to their folder. They choose their files, up to 50 MB each, and they're done: no sign-up and no password.

Encrypted before it leaves their computer

Every file is encrypted in the browser with its own AES-GCM key before upload, whether you add it or a client does. What sits in storage is ciphertext.

Upload links can't look inside

An upload-only link adds files and nothing else. Nobody holding it can see what is in the folder, so a forwarded link doesn't expose a client's records.

Send finished work back read-only

Share a return or a folder as a link that only opens after sign-in. Limit it to named email addresses, set an expiry, or delete it and access ends.

Read this before you store client records

It isn't a full client portal. Clients don't get their own login with a document history, e-signatures or messaging. They get links: one to send you files, one to view what you share. Each uploaded file can be up to 50 MB.

It isn't provider-blind encryption. StorageBites manages the encryption keys so your files open on any device you sign in to. That means we have the cryptographic access needed to decrypt them, and we'd cooperate with valid legal requests. If your rules require that a provider can never decrypt, encrypt files with a tool like Cryptomator before uploading.

It isn't a compliance attestation. We don't advertise SOC 2, HIPAA or similar certifications. Check what your profession's rules require before storing regulated records.

Frequently asked questions

How do clients send me their documents?

You create an upload-only link for a client's folder and send it to them. They open it, choose their files, and the files are encrypted in their browser and land in that folder. They don't need an account, and each file can be up to 50 MB.

Can a client see other files in the folder they upload to?

No. An upload-only link can add files and nothing else. Whoever holds it can't list, open or download what is in the folder, including what they sent earlier. You can delete the link at any time to stop further uploads.

How do I send finished work back to a client?

With a read-only link to a file or folder. The client signs in to view or download it; a free read-only account is enough. You can limit the link to specific email addresses, set it to expire, and delete it to end access.

Who can open the files I store?

Someone signed in to your account, and anyone you deliberately share a read-only link with, who also has to sign in. StorageBites manages the encryption keys so your files open on any device you sign in to, which means we have the cryptographic access needed to decrypt them, and we'd cooperate with valid legal requests. We don't claim to be zero-knowledge or end-to-end encrypted.

Is there a per-user or per-client fee?

No. The Collaborative Client Sharing Plan is one flat $49 per month for 1 TB of storage. There are no per-user licences, no per-client charges and no seat minimum.
